Vision Questionnaire
The Lay Led Self Management Network was formed in May 2006 as a result of providers of lay led self management in the voluntary sector identifying a need for best practice and information sharing by and in the interests of people with long term health conditions. As a peer support network there have been opportunities to share ideas at quarterly meetings, learn from the experience of others, identify opportunities for joint work and problem solving at various levels. Some local networks in London and the South East have been encouraged and supported to continue or develop.
The network has been inclusive of a variety of stakeholders in self management from large condition specific organisations such as Arthritis Care and Macmillan Cancer Support, generic self management providers including the EPP and a variety of small and medium sized organisations working with a range of diverse groups.
EPP has funded the network in the first and second years with money in the second year from the Capacitybuilders Improving Reach programme during a time of transition across the sectors.
As we move into the third year of the network we need to consider the needs of stakeholders in self management and how they can best be met. What support is needed in the diversifying and expanding market place for self management, how can it be provided and funded?
