Penelope Doué
Lay Led Self-Management Network
Co-ordinator
Hello!
My name is Penelope Doué and I am the Lay Led Self-Management Network Co-ordinator based at The Positive Place, Deptford, London.
My role is to coordinate the development of voluntary and not for profit sector providers of lay led self-management programmes.
Network
This will include setting up a network using a range of methods for sharing information, developing best practice, setting up monitoring systems for courses and to provide representation and support in developing the role of the sector within the field of self-management.
It will involve network facilitation through quarterly network meetings and an internet based network for voluntary and not for profit providers to share good practice, issues and ideas.
Representation
Also, I will be facilitating opportunities for representation for the voluntary and not for profit providers to NHS, Expert Patient Programme, Department of Health and funding organisations to assist in the development and delivery of lay led self-management and developing a plan for the longer term sustainability of the network securing funding for the future.
Support Service
I will be providing a support service for potential and existing provider organisations to assist them in meeting the requirements of the Stanford University Licence Agreement contained in Stepping Stones to Success, promoting joint work and a strategic approach to the development of resources.
Database
I will be setting up a database of all voluntary and not for profit providers to monitor the number of courses, tutors, and evaluation by participants and providers in summary form.
Report
There will be an interim and a final report of progress including an assessment of the developments of the network and a report on course evaluations.
